Promote Home Security With A Babysitter

As a parent, you already know how important it is to have a trusted nanny or babysitter that you can call anytime. But apart from finding someone you can trust, you will also need to get a nanny who has basic knowledge on home safety and security. One way you can do this though is to provide your nanny the necessary information she needs on how to react during certain occasions.

Here are a few tips to help you ensure that your nanny will be okay while you’re away:

  • If you have an alarm system installed, make sure that your babysitter knows how she can operate the system on her own. Before leaving your home, see to it that your nanny can work the alarm without causing any false alarms. At the same time, you have to teach her not to accidentally disarm the system. This is something you need to teach your nanny, especially if you will be leaving your child with her for an extended time period.
  • Make sure that you leave behind a list of phone numbers that your nanny can call. Apart from listing down your phone number, the list should also consist the phone number of your family members, friends, neighbors, and emergency numbers. On this same list, you should clearly write down your complete home address.
  • Inform your neighbors that you hired a sitter to look after your kids. This is a good way you can have an extra bunch of watchful eyes on your home. At the same time, they won’t be surprised that a stranger is lurking around in your home while you’re away.
  • Lastly, make sure that you have told your sitter not to expect any guests. If you are expecting someone, on the other hand, let your sitter know this so that she will not let uninvited guests enter your home.

By following the above tips, you can be confident that your chosen nanny or babysitter will be fine while you do your business.
